Hi all,
Sunday 25th March saw the third race in the Endurance expert championship, the Gloucester 20. Another good turn out, 6 men and 6 women completed the 20 mile race, for many club members it was the first time they had raced this distance, a great effort all round.
Men’s Championship
In another storming run, Tom Cooper made it 3 for 3, coming in first and picking up the 10 points. Mark Manley came in 2nd, followed by Dave Daniels in his first 20 mile race. How has this affected the championship standings? After 3 races, Tom has a strong lead, Jack Pitcher maintains his 2nd place, and Andy Masser has moved into 3rd. But still plenty of races to go!
- Tom Cooper 30 points
- Jack Pitcher 17 points
- Andy Masser 14 points
Ladies Championship
Nadine Brown had a fantastic race, and was first in for the ladies, picking up the 10 points with a huge PB. Elaine Chapman was second lady, followed by Ellie Taylor competing in her first 20 mile race. So with these points, Nadine extends her lead over Elaine, with Emily Jeffries holding onto the 3rd place. Again, it’s still early on, and points still to be won!
- Nadine Brown 29 points
- Elaine Chapman 26 points
- Emily Jeffries 10 points
The next race club race is the first race in the Short Stuff Specialist Championship, the Highworth 5, 8th April 2018. The next endurance race is the Chedworth 10 mile, 15th April.
Happy running all!
Elaine, Club Captain.
