Isolation Efforts

Find a hill! Any hill (or incline) will do when you are following social distancing guidelines. The session is to run hard uphill then jog back down to recover (walk if necessary). Repeat a minimum of 5 times. You should be sufficiently recovered when you reach the bottom of the hill to accelerate back up. Aim to keep all of your uphill efforts at a consistent pace, ie don’t blast the first few then really struggle by no 5.

Hills are a great way to build strength and speed. In fact, hills are really just speed work in disguise!

This is an effort session and should feel like one, but do what is appropriate for you.

We suggest an easy 10 min warm up run to your hill of choice, do the session then a nice easy pace run home.

Don’t forget to stretch!

For those completing the RSE Coaches Challenge don’t forget to wear club colours too and send your Captain a selfie 🙂

Happy Running
