Cotswold 24 Hour Race
The Cotswold 24 Hour Race is a 24 hour individual or team relay race held in the beautiful Bathurst Estate, Cirencester. The race is run over a 9km mixed terrain course including forest trails and open tarmac paths. RSE’s Dave Daniels was among 217 other solo runners who took part in a very hot and testing 24 hours. Under the watchful eye of a very supportive wife, Dave completed 14 laps within the 24 hours, totaling a mighty impressive 78miles! Well done Dave, such an incredible achievement and very well deserved. Congratulations!
Mendip Marauder 30
Starting at the Market Town of Wells this 30 mile ultra took Ollie Hazel through a real smorgasbord of Somerset scenery finishing at Uphill, just outside Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday. With nearly 1,500 meters of accent this is certainly not a flat route and provided a challenge, but with rolling hillside, pretty woodland, quarries and atmospheric villages I am sure he was often too busy enjoying the views to think too hard about how tired he was! Well done to Ollie who completed the event in 5:24:44 (awaiting official time).
Secret Gin Run
Saturday also saw Charlie Austin & Edith Putt take part in this 10km running tour through London; stopping at places that are key to London’s thirsty history and playing games along the route. The route finished with all runners enjoying a well-deserved gin and tonic or gin cocktail! Well done ladies, it looked a lot of fun!
Forest of Dean Trail Half
New for 2018 this trail event was ran on firetrack gravel trails starting and finishing in the grounds of the Famous Speech House Hotel. Sharon Smith completed a ‘very hot’ half on Sunday in 1:54:00, 1st LV60 – great work Sharon!
